Professor Osia ty\u0144ski was also a writer, activist, feminist and one of the authors of the 1997 Polish Constitution. While his writings were based on solid logic, his radio shows were full of passion and warmth. He was an outstanding educator who helped raise generations of lawyers and human rights activists. He passed away on the 27<sup>th<\/sup> of April 2017.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Osiaty\u0144ski was a tireless promoter of democratic values, including the rule of law, in Central and Eastern Europe. He has taught at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris, the Ludwig Maximilians-Universitaet in Munich, the Humboldt Universitaet in Berlin, and the Institut d&#8217;Etudes Politiques (Sciences-PO) in Paris. He has authored several books, including <em>Constitutional Patriotism<\/em> (Harvard University Press, 2007), <em>Where Europe ends \u2013 Hungary, Brussels, and the Fate of Liberal Democracy<\/em> (Suhrkamp, 2013) and <em>What is populism?<\/em> (Suhrkamp, 2017), which have been translated into many languages.
